Fitness Collective
We are focused on providing exceptional physical training, from PERSONAL TRAINING, small group training to bootcamp style sessions accessible to participants at all levels of fitness.
Why fitness Collective?
Fun: Fitness Collective'’s personal training and bootcamp sessions are designed so that you have fun; this is not the drill sarg approach, this is about having fun and achieving together, you'’ll still be smiling at the end!
Fear: The thought of exercising alone can seem far too challenging; how do you deal with the obstacles that come up along the way? How do you keep on track? What makes Fitness Collective different is that we won’'t leave you to battle alone.
Team morale: As part of Fitness Collective’s programmes we look to build great team cohesion and encourage you to get to know each other, motivate one another and work together as a group. Your fellow Fitness Collective bootcamp peers can also help keep you accountable for sticking to your fitness routine.
Support: We are with you all the way. You’ll receive tailored support, specifically areas of support that increase the likelihood of you continuing exercising and achieving results, this can include regular calls, texts, meetings and emails. Facing a challenge, lacking motivation or have a question? – just get in touch!
Motivation & inspiration: We set appropriate tasks and activities that you can realistically achieve, this helps build motivation. When things get easy, we will adjust and improve your programme to keep you moving forward, and we regularly have tests to increase motivation.
Results driven: We are here to steer you in the right direction to achieve your results; we want to help get you there!

Personal training provides specific SUPPORT and MOTIVATION that will encourage and inspire you to achieve your personal fitness or weight loss goals through targeted exercise coaching and technical assistance.
Is Personal training for me?
Personal Training: Tailors your training to meet your specific needs and exercise preferences (so if you like training on the beach, we’ll customise your programme to include everything that you enjoy). With personal training you get the most comprehensive care, support and technical assistance focussed on assisting you reach your goals. And best of all, because it’s all about you, you’'ll have a fun workout!
Consultation: With personal training we go through a detailed Fitness Collective consultation; this is designed to find out your health, medical history, goals and exercise preferences so that we can create a custom plan that works best for you!
Testing: Testing is one of the most important things in training towards your goals; it gives us a starting point to work from, adds motivation and provides direction towards achieving your goals. We customise the testing so that it’s right for you! (So if you don’t like to run, don’t worry, I won’t make you do the beep test).
Specific Goals: One of the key benefits of personal training is that we go through and plan your goals in great detail, then break them into small bite-size chunks or stepping stones; we’ll add more stones of top of each other as we get closer to achieving your goal.
Support: Working together is part of a successful plan to achieve your goals; you will receive constant communication throughout your training and we offer guidance and motivation through emails, calls, text and regular updates.
Skype: If you are out of town for a business trip or live on the other side of world but still need your fitness fix, Skype personal training could be the answer for you - it allows you to have access to your trainer from anywhere, so there’s no excuses for a slip in routine! (Skype camera and quality broadband internet is required).
Mobile Personal training: Afraid of training in a gym and would prefer to train from the comfort and convenience of your home? We are more than happy to come to your door - we travel with our own equipment! Price dependant on travel.

Group training boot camp builds great team cohesion; it enables you to work at your own level or push yourself against others within the group. Simply put, it’s so much fun working together.
Is Group training boot camp for me?
Group Training boot camp: Fitness Collective provides group training sessions that are tailored to your specific goals and needs. Whether you’re getting back in to fitness, a new mum, have a few kilos to lose or looking for a challenge, Fitness Collective sessions are carefully planned to cater for all fitness levels.
Fun: Group training boot camp is a fun way to incorporate exercise in to your life. Group training boot camp is about being part of a big, fun experience, working together to achieve better health, so if you have a hard time keeping motivated then group fitness is for you! Bring a friend along and enjoy training together or meet like-minded people who want to share their experiences with you.
Team support: The greatest thing about training within a group is that all group members are working towards similar goals, so you’ll be supporting and helping each other to achieve.
Benefits: With group fitness, you get a great workout that is fun, will improve your strength and cardiovascular fitness and help you to achieve weight loss goals which makes you feel great and will boost your confidence. We keep in mind your individual abilities and tweak each exercise so that you get the most out of it!
Small Groups: Considering training with your mates? Fitness Collective offers small group fitness sessions that can fit in with you, so get a group of your friends together and give it a go. It’s a fun way to help each other stay on track, keep fit and push and encourage each other achieve your goals.
Structure: Sessions run for 45-60mins, and include time to meet and greet, warm up carefully, targeted strength and cardio phases, FUN group activities and a safe stretch and cool down! We like to keep groups small, so essentially you receive a fun, targeted workout without the expense of personal training.
Results: To get the best results possible we recommend that all training is supported by a great nutritional plan. If weight loss is one of your main goals we recommend that seeing a nutritionist for a personalised plan is crucial to success. Fitness Collective works closely with nutritionists to ensure you receive the best possible advice.

About Me!
ABOUT: Fitness Collective is led by Kaz Thompson. Kaz has wide experience relating to all aspects of health and fitness and brings with him his knowledge of many different exercise science disciplines – exercise prescription, sport nutrition, rehabilitation, tutoring, strength and conditioning, biomechanics and coaching, and has created Fitness Collective in order to provide an all-encompassing, supportive approach to fitness.

Kaz has wide experience relating to all aspects of health and fitness and brings with him his knowledge of many different exercise science disciplines: exercise prescription, sport nutrition, rehabilitation, tutoring, strength and conditioning, biomechanics and coaching, and has created Fitness Collective in order to provide an all-encompassing, supportive approach to fitness.
Education: Kaz holds a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Sport and Exercise Science along with UK Strength and Conditioning Accreditations and is passionate about sport and wellness and the science behind it.
Previous work : Kaz has worked in various health & fitness and strength & conditioning roles since 1998, in NZ and the UK, including roles across a broad range of sports starting at age group, club level, regional, national through to international. Kaz knows the importance of building a strong relationship with his clients and combines his passion and knowledge with an ability to motivate and inspire clients towards achieving great results.

Sore muscles days after strenuous exercise? need a few quick tips to help your recovery and enhance performance? here's 5 quick tips: Recovery is dependent on 3 stress domains, physical, psychological and emotional, minimise stress and recover faster! 1) REST!!! allow adequate recovery time between similar workouts 2) active recovery helps, this can be as simple as a brisk walk the day after to going to a yoga class 3) Hot and cold showers after your session promotes blood flow to the area to remove the baddies, 1 min hot, 30sec cold!!!!! 4) ensure that you are hydrated and have a well balanced healthy diet, if you need help, see a NUTRITIONIST! and 5) Make sure to get plenty of zzzzzz's, quality sleep helps recovery!
Need to burn extra calories during the day ? heres a few sneaky tips. 1) park your car further away from work! 2) walk up the stairs instead of using the elevator! 3) Make sure every hour you are active, this could be as simple as a quick walk around the office. 4) Get out and about for lunch, take a walk to your local healthy eatery. IT ALL HELPS! GET ACTIVE
Do you have SHIN SPLINTS? need help? Shin splints are a common complaint that many fitness fanatics suffer from, here are some quick tips to help: 1) carefully increase your training, allowing time for your muscles to adjust 2) select the correct shoe for your gait (walking, running), your best bet is to see a PODIATRIST!!!!!!! 3) Stretch your calf and shin muscles regularly 4) massage the calf muscles to keep them loose 5) Trigger point relief. Sit with your shin on a foam roller or a golf ball, gently move across the sore area 10X. THIS CAN BE PAINFUL.... if pain persists see a physio! Good luck.
